DON’T TAKE AUDITS LYING DOWN!!!! We have all witnessed audits that virtually steal your hard earned money by recouping dollars for legitimate prescriptions for minor errors or no errors at all. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!! If you have been audited by companies like Pharm-Dur (or anyone else), don’t accept their final ruling. In case after case where a pharmacy hires an attorney, they end up paying 1/5th to 1/6th of the original amount of the audit. The usual cost for the attorney is less than $1,000. In almost every case you will end up paying less (including legal) than if you accepted the original audit results. If you require an attorney, we can recommend one for New Jersey and New York that has produced extraordinary results. The real point is to take a stand against audit abuse. Some would say that to fight is to ask for more trouble with these insurers. I say, “If you just ‘pay it’, they will surely come after you again and again because you are an easy target”.
