IPA STAFF: Our professional staff consists of: John A. Giampolo, President/Executive Director Attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He was the Senior Vice President of the New Jersey Hospital Association Group Purchasing Program for thirteen years, until June 1988. At that time he incorporated the Independent Pharmacy Alliance, a retail-buying co‑op serving 1,000 independent pharmacies in New Jersey. Over the last 15 years, IPA has independently evolved into a comprehensive trade group and buying cooperative offering discount agreements and legislative support services for more than 2000 independent pharmacies. Total business management experience: 35 years Daniel S. Levine, Corporate Director of Pharmacy Services A licensed pharmacist since 1980, he has practiced in retail, hospital and managed care pharmacy. Dan managed a pharmaceutical purchasing and distribution center for HIP Health Plan of New Jersey for 4 1/2 years. Dan manages IPA's Generic Source Programs, as well as Market Share and Continuing Education Programs. Dan is IPA's Compliance Officer for HIPAA. Total pharmacy and purchasing related experience: 21 years Kathleen A. Fuller, Director of Operations Kathy spent 7 years with the New Jersey Hospital Association Group Purchasing Program in Princeton, NJ. Since 1988, her responsibilities as Director of Operations include managing and developing vendor agreements, marketing, vendor support, member services and internal operations. Total healthcare and group purchasing related experience: 24 years John Covello, Executive Director of Governmental Affairs Most recently, John served as Chief of Staff to Edison, New Jersey former Mayor George Spadoro. John worked on Capitol Hill for several Congressmen early in his career. He also served as a key legislative staff professional to the NJ General Assembly Democratic Caucus in the 1990’s. His professional experience also includes being the Legislative Liaison for the NJ Department of Banking and Insurance and being a lobbyist for a major New Jersey utility company. Given his background over 2 decades of working in the governmental, lobbying and political fields in Washington D.C. and New Jersey, both in the public and private sector, John is well equipped to navigate the complex maze of public policy, public affairs and politics to serve IPA’s advocacy and public relations goals. Total years of governmental and public affairs experience: 13 years Heather Rodgers, Senior Member Services Administrator An employee since June 2003, Heather is IPA’s full time employee dedicated to handle all third party issues including reimbursement, MAC pricing and audits on behalf of our members. Heather has extensive pharmacy experience through her positions at Horizon/Mercy and with both chain and independent pharmacies. Her knowledge of the inner workings of the third parties gives her an edge in resolving issues on behalf of the pharmacy. Total third party and pharmacy experience: 10 years Laura Sondej, Senior Executive Administrator An employee of IPA since 1998, Laura was hired originally as the Administrative Assistant for the LifeCare Nutrition Center. She has since advanced to the position of Sr. Administrative Coordinator providing support for the Legislative and Generic Divisions and to the President. She also helps coordinate continuing education programs and is responsible for the office’s day-to-day internal operations. She has a BA in Psychology / Business from Trenton State College. Total business experience: 18 years |
