Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Technology in Today’s Community Pharmacy

Speaker: Christopher Thomsen, of the Thomsen Group, “The Pharmacy Automation Experts” Mr. Thomsen, widely recognized as the foremost authority on the topic and field of Pharmacy Automation and Technology., provides unbiased, vendor-independent consulting and research services for private, public and government pharmacy operations.

Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:

· Describe the history of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology in community pharmacy.

· Evaluate their pharmacy in an effort to determine when and how IVR can be implemented.

· List the groundwork/requirements of all new efficiencies and IVR applications.

· Outline IVR add-on technologies, i.e. bin management, signature capture, POS and electronic signature systems.

· Explain how IVR can be implemented to improve workflow, efficiency and productivity.

· Define and describe patient messaging.
